Thirsty Pika Taproom is a new business located in the Outlets at Silverthorne’s Blue Village, right on the rec path and river crossing bridge, providing both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage options on a modern 30-tap self-pour beverage wall.

We have another local business spotlight, this month, we're featuring the Thirsty Pika Taproom here in Silverthorne, Colorado.

We sat down and talked with Thirsty Pika owner, Chris Proctor.

Q: Tell us about your history and inspiration and why did you name your taproom the Thirsty Pika?
 
A: Silverthornes inevitable expansion drove our desire to open this mountain themed taproom. We love our high-alpine mammalian friends, hence the Thirsty Pika!
 
Q: What were you doing before you opened Thirsty Pika Taproom?
 
A: Our team has a variety of backgrounds including tech sales, brewery operations and pharmaceuticals.

 

Q: How does the Thirsty Pika Taproom work?
 
A: Your credit card on file opens a tab using one of our RFID beverage cards which allows guests to pour any of our 30 beverages on the self-pour tapwall. Beers, ciders, kombucha, cocktails and wines are all on tap.

 
Q: How many taps do you have and what drink options are offered?
 
A: 30 taps, listed above. Non-alcoholic and gluten free options are in the cooler, plus sandwiches and snacks. We also have juice boxes and milk for kids.
 
Q: What are your top 3 favorite taps?
 
A: Too many great ones to target only 3! We’re also rotating new items on tap daily.Q: As real estate agents, we know location is everything! How did you choose your location?
 
A: It simply checked all the boxes…parking, visibility, patio space, recreation path…to name just a few.

 
Q: Do you have food options?
 
A: Enza’s Delicatessen & Market sandwiches and wraps, snacks and outside food is also permitted.
 
Q: What is your favorite recreational activity in Summit County and what brought you to Summit County?
 
A: Rafting spring runoff on the Blue River. I moved here for the endless adventures!

 
Q: What do you find most enjoyable about running Thirsty Pika Taproom?
 
A: Watching guests get excited about the huge selection of beverages and freshly remodeled space we have to offer.
