Lavender Fox Floral & Interiors is a new business located Frisco, on Summit Blvd. Providing interior design and floral arrangements for any occasion.

This month for our local business spotlight, we are featuring the Lavender Fox located in Frisco, Colorado.

We sat down and talked with Debbie Eillson, the owner and creative mind behind the business.

Q: Tell us about your history and inspiration.  Where does the name “Lavender Fox” come from?

A:  I am a mountain girl at heart – and loved the sly whimsy and colorful play on the name. I liked that creatively, it set the tone as a fun, local, mountain design studio.

Q: What kind of work did you do before opening Lavender Fox?

A: I have a strong educational background in both horticulture and design. I've also worked at many other flower shops and with special events. Most recently I was working in Interior Design and with Mountain Comfort Furnishings. I am a member of ASID and many trade connections. I have been lucky to work on many developments and properties in Summit County and the Rocky Mountain Region. It is my passion to combine my love of both design realms and open my own shop.

Q: What different occasions do you provide flowers for?

A: Every day and any special event – My grandpa use to bring my grandma a stem of flowers every week and I want to be able to cater to simple finds as well as special events. I love finding new and unique varieties of flowers and plants. You can make every day feel special. I also love intimate weddings in our gorgeous mountains. I have been able to be involved with some really creative and beautiful venues. Collaborating with some fun couples and families for their special moments is such an amazing opportunity. I am lucky to be creative and get my hands dirty to make something really special.

Q: You also do interior décor - Where do you find your inspiration?

A: Nature and comfort – whether it is a natural grain in wood that has special characteristic or clean lined architecture that I am layering in textural accents, I love the compliment of an organic feel in modern mountain designs. Relaxed sophistication. Rustic comfort. The balancing of a space for the life it holds. It is important to build relationships with clients and being able to bridge their design with lifestyle and functionality in their home. Whether it is simply adding accessories – or working in new builds and remodels, there are some creative ways to decorate spaces. Details matter – and my 28 years of experience in this industry helps with the selection process. Tried and true creative mindset and ability to listen to clients.

Q: What is your favorite thing about owning a flower and décor company?

A: Being part of this amazing community. I get to deliver love letters, get creative, and meet amazing people. Summit County is truly a special place. Sharing my floral designs and interior spaces with this community is very special. I like to share what my collaborative group of growers, builders, crafters, and artisans bring to the functionality and playfulness of design.

Q: How did you choose your Frisco location?

A: Frisco is the heart of this county. Not only centrally located – but the true vibe of our Mountain towns. So many great families and businesses make this adventurous community thrive. Near the hustle of Breckenridge and Vail, but maintaining its own identity and culture. Small town feel while being close to everything.

Q: What brought you to Summit County?

A: I talked my husband in to living in the mountains for one year – 26 years ago. He was a chef and I worked at a flower shop, snowboard shop, and managed properties. To honeymoon in Summit and get involved in this community was such a wild ride . Blessed that it has not stopped. Couldn’t imagine anywhere else to have our roots grow. The mountains will always have my heart

Q: Where do you spend your time away from the shop?

A: Although I am not extreme at any one sport – I do enjoy anything outside and with my family: Snowboarding at Copper or A Basin, biking, camping, XC skiing, paddle boarding, hiking with my pup, live music at the lake, or catching a patio happy hour at some of our great pubs with friends.
